Multi Media Art Framing

Here’s a very large piece we did for one of our Houston FASTFRAME customers. It is an original multi media art piece from a Norwegian artist, primarily fabrics, with some other artifacts, all hand sewn into place.

Multi media art pieces can be a challenge due to the depth the art presents. In this case we used Raphael fabric wrapped panels because we needed the large surface to mount the piece and they also provided the depth to let the art retain its natural flow (second picture). We have seen pieces like these stretched almost flat which really takes away from some of the drama of the art.

Beautiful, incredible detail, and striking.

Wonderful example of ‘stacking’ frames to highlight colors in the art.

In this custom design we used an orange ‘rubbed swirl’ two inch frame from Omega moulding to play with the dominant fall colors in the painting. We then ‘stacked’ it on top of a small half inch ‘Galactic Blue’ metal frame from Nielsen that does a great job of bring the striking color blue background to the forefront.
